The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, winner of the 2026 governorship election. Adeleke secured 511,067 votes, defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 444,815 votes. The Lagos State Government has called on landowners and host communities to support the development of proposed Material Recovery Facilities as part of efforts to transform waste management and promote a circular economy. The facilities are planned for Erekiti in Badagry and Agbowa in Ikorodu.
