The Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC, has confirmed that an incident occurred on the Warri-Itakpe Train Service, WITS, on Monday.
In a statement, NRC Managing Director, Doctor Kayode Opeifa, said emergency response teams and relevant authorities were already at the scene attending to passengers and managing the situation.
“Emergency response teams and relevant authorities are currently at the scene providing necessary assistance,” Opeifa said.
The Corporation said it is closely monitoring developments and will release a detailed statement once more information is available.
NRC urged the public to remain calm and rely only on official channels for verified updates as investigations continue.
