The Administrative and Finance Committee of the West African Examinations Council has expressed confidence in the leadership of WAEC Nigeria under Head of National Office, Doctor Amos Dangut.
The resolution was reached at the Committee’s 240th meeting held in Ibadan, Oyo StateThe Committee, which serves as WAEC’s highest advisory body on administrative and financial matters in Nigeria, commended Dangut and his management team for operational efficiency and institutional discipline.
In a statement issued by the Acting Head of Public Affairs, Moyosola Adesina,the Committee noted that the team sustained the smooth conduct of the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination for School Candidates, 2026, despite recent union-related concerns.
Following a review of the Nigeria National Office’s operations, the Committee said management’s handling of administrative responsibilities and staff engagement reflected professionalism and commitment to WAEC’s core values.
The Committee formally passed a vote of confidence on Dr. Dangut and his team, reaffirming support for management and its capacity to advance the Council’s mandate. It also cautioned against actions that could undermine WAEC’s reputation and integrity.
WAEC reassured candidates, parents, ministries of education, and other stakeholders that operations nationwide remain stable and on course. The Council reiterated its commitment to transparency, staff welfare, and maintaining a peaceful working environment.
