The Olu of Agboyi Kingdom, Oba Monsuru Abimbola Adekanbi Oladega, and residents of the community have applauded the Lagos State Governor,Babajide Sanwo-Olu for providing mobile healthcare services to improve access to quality medical care.
The Monarch gave the commendation at a town hall meeting on the EKO Social Health Alliance (EKOSHA) Rural Health Scheme, organised by the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) for residents of Agboyi Ori-Omi in Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
Oba Oladega, Akinmasa I, expressed appreciation to the Governor and LASHMA Permanent Secretary, Dr Emmanuella Zamba, for bringing healthcare services closer to residents, adding that feedback from beneficiaries of the mobile clinic had been encouraging.
He urged LASHMA to sustain the scheme to enable more residents to benefit from its healthcare services and encouraged community members to use the mobile clinic whenever they experience health challenges.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr Zamba said the Rural Health Scheme was introduced to bridge healthcare access gaps in hard-to-reach and underserved communities, particularly areas without functional primary healthcare centres.

She commended the monarch and community chiefs for supporting the initiative, which began in Agboyi Ori-Omi to ensure residents have access to equitable and quality healthcare.
According to her, 2,546 residents have enrolled in the scheme since its launch, while 791 beneficiaries accessed medical care between January and September 2026.
She added that 276 referrals had been made to Mascara Primary Health Centre, Ketu, and Gbagada General Hospital at no additional cost to enrollees.
Dr Zamba said 251 beneficiaries received treatment for urinary tract infections and general body pain, 144 were treated for elevated blood pressure, while 63 received care for diabetes.
Dr Zamba said known hypertensive and diabetic patients were receiving free monthly medication refills.
She also stated that 410 malaria screenings were conducted during the period, with 66 cases confirmed positive, urging residents to undergo testing at the mobile clinic whenever they experience feverish symptoms rather than taking medication without a confirmed diagnosis.
The LASHMA’s Permanent Secretary commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for dedicating one per cent of the state’s Consolidated Revenue Fund to the Equity Fund, increasing its allocation from N1 billion to N3 billion and making it a separate budget line.
She assured the Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area, Adetola Abubakar, the monarch and residents that the mobile clinic would continue operating in the community according to its scheduled timetable until a functional primary healthcare centre becomes available.

She also assured them that transportation arrangements for referred patients would continue.
Dr Zamba called on Mascara Primary Health Centre and Gbagada General Hospital to ensure that enrollees from Agboyi Ori-Omi receive quality and equitable healthcare services.
In her goodwill message, the Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Adetola Abubakar, represented by the Secretary to the LCDA, Tajudeen Akinyemi, commended LASHMA for extending healthcare services to underserved communities.
She urged the agency to address complaints and other challenges that could prevent residents from accessing quality medical care under the scheme.
A beneficiary, the Baale of Ishe Waterside, Idowu Adesina, also appreciated LASHMA for providing healthcare services to residents of the community.
The Rural Health Scheme was launched at Agboyi Ori-Omi on November 11th, 2025, in line with an Executive Order signed by Governor Sanwo-Olu on July 16, 2024.
