The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, May 27 and Thursday, May 28, 2026, as public holidays to commemorate this year’s Eid al-Adha celebration.
The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior on behalf of the Federal Government, urging Muslim faithful and all Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and national development.
The Government also encouraged citizens to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, love, tolerance, and compassion as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
Nigerians were further advised to celebrate responsibly and extend goodwill to the less privileged during the festive period.
The Federal Government wished all Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyous Eid al-Adha celebration.
