A stern warning has been issued to the public regarding fraudulent WhatsApp groups using the name “Value Growth Club”.
In these groups, bad actors are posing as renowned business leader Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede to mislead individuals and fraudulently request money.
An official disclaimer states: “The public is urged to exercise extreme caution concerning WhatsApp groups under the name ‘Value Growth Club’, where persons are impersonating Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, CFR, Chairman of Access Holdings, and citing Gotham Capital to appear legitimate and attract members.”
Following independent checks, it was made clear that: “Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede has absolutely no affiliation with these WhatsApp groups or any associated investment programs.
He has not established, approved, sanctioned, or taken part in any group named Value Growth Club.
He has no involvement in any WhatsApp-based trading contests, investment forums, or projects tied to Gotham Capital or comparable platforms.”
The notice described the activity bluntly: “These claims are false, deceptive, and constitute fraudulent impersonation.”
The public is strongly cautioned: “DO NOT join these groups, DO NOT transfer funds, DO NOT invest, and DO NOT disclose personal or financial details to anyone alleging such a connection. Exit, report, and disregard these groups, and share this alert widely”, as authorities ramp up action against the rising tide of online financial scams targeting Nigerians.
